The Bubble Eye Goldfish is one of the most unique and eye-catching fancy goldfish varieties. Famous for its large fluid-filled eye sacs and gentle swimming style, this ornamental fish is best suited for peaceful, well-maintained aquariums where its delicate features can be admired safely.

Appearance & Size

  • Adult Size: 12–15 cm
  • Body Shape: Rounded fancy goldfish body
  • Eye Feature: Large fluid-filled sacs below the eyes
  • Color Varieties: Orange, red, white, calico

Ideal Aquarium Setup

  • Temperature: 18–23°C
  • pH Range: 6.5–7.5
  • Water Hardness: Moderate
  • Filtration: Strong biological filtration with gentle flow
  • Substrate: Bare bottom or fine sand
  • Decor: Smooth décor only (no sharp edges)

Avoid rough gravel, sharp rocks, or plastic plants that can damage the eye sacs.

Feeding Requirements

Bubble Eye Goldfish are omnivorous but slow feeders:

  • Sinking goldfish pellets
  • Gel food or soft pellets
  • Blanched vegetables (peas, spinach)
  • Occasional frozen foods

Feed small portions 2–3 times daily to prevent digestion issues.

Behavior & Compatibility

  • Very peaceful and slow-moving
  • Best kept with other gentle fancy goldfish
