The Carbon Rili Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) is a beautiful freshwater dwarf shrimp prized for its black, dark blue, and transparent rili pattern. With solid color on the head and tail and a clear midsection, they bring a dramatic look to any tank. Hardy, peaceful, and easy to care for, they’re ideal for both beginners and experienced shrimp keepers.

 Appearance

  • Coloration: Black or deep blue head/tail with a translucent midsection.

  • Temperature: 68–78°F (20–25°C).
  • pH: 6.5–7.5 | Hardness: 4–12 dGH.
  • Filtration: Sponge or gentle HOB filter.
  • Substrate/Decor: Dark substrate, live plants, driftwood, leaf litter.
  • Note: Avoid copper—it’s toxic to shrimp.
