Description
The Sakura Red Shrimp is a higher-grade version of the popular Red Cherry Shrimp, prized for its intense, solid red coloration. Hardy, active, and beginner-friendly, they make an excellent addition to planted aquariums and community tanks.
Appearance
Bright solid red body, 1–1.6 in (2.5–4 cm). Females are larger, deeper red, and egg-carrying; males are slimmer and lighter.
Care Guidelines
- Tank: 5+ gallons
- Temp: 65–80°F (18–27°C), best ~76°F
- pH: 6.4–8.0 | Hardness: 4–14 dGH, 0–10 kH
- Filter: Sponge or HOB with pre-filter
- Setup: Dark substrate, plants, driftwood, leaf litter
- Avoid copper – toxic to shrimp
- Temperament: Peaceful, non-aggressive scavengers.
