Description

Product Description:

Hemianthus micranthemoides, also known as Micranthemum micranthemoides, pearl grass and pearl weed, is a popular aquatic plant most commonly used in aquascaping. It is very similar to H. callitrichoides, but has somewhat larger leaves. It belongs to the group of aquarium plants commonly known as "pearl weed".

Size: Hemianthus micranthemoides is a small, delicate plant that typically grows to a height of 2-6 inches (5-15 cm).

Leaves: The leaves are tiny, round, and bright green, usually measuring about 1-2 mm in diameter. They grow in opposite pairs along the stem, creating a dense, bushy appearance.

Stems: The stems are thin and delicate, with a tendency to grow upright when planted densely and horizontally when given space, making it versatile for different aquascaping styles.

Lighting: Requires moderate to high lighting to thrive and maintain its compact growth form. Insufficient light can cause the plant to grow leggy and less dense.

CO2 and Nutrients: Benefits from CO2 supplementation and regular fertilization. In nutrient-rich environments with CO2, it grows more vigorously and maintains a bright green color.

Substrate: Prefers a fine-grained substrate that can anchor its delicate roots. A nutrient-rich substrate can further enhance its growth.

Water Parameters: Adapts to a wide range of water conditions but prefers slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0-7.5) and soft to moderately hard water. Temperature should be kept between 68-82°F (20-28°C).
