Product Description:
Araguaia is an uncommon midground or background plant which is named after the Brazilian river in which it comes from. Hygrophila can thrive when grown emersed and submerged. When grown submerged and kept under proper conditions, this plant can develop a deep pink to reddish brown coloration. Its appearance resembles that of a stem plant but it grows in short bushes which can add a nice bush effect to the midground of your aquarium.
Narrow, lance-shaped leaves. Typically deep green to reddish-brown in color. Leaves can grow to a length of 2-4 cm (0.8-1.6 inches) and a width of about 0.5-1 cm (0.2-0.4 inches). Grows densely, creating a bushy appearance. pH: Prefers slightly acidic to neutral water (pH 6.0-7.5). Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 22-28°C (72-82°F).
Lighting: Requires moderate to high lighting. Strong light can enhance the reddish tones in the leaves.
CO2 Requirements: Benefits greatly from CO2 supplementation, which promotes vibrant growth and coloration.
Substrate: Prefers a nutrient-rich substrate. A good quality aquarium soil can help maintain its health and color.
