Description
Male blue betta fish, also known as Siamese fighting fish or Dumbo bettas, are typically larger than females and have more elaborate colors and longer fins. They also have a more distinct "beard" under their gill coverings.
Male bettas can have nine different possible iridescent colors, including teal blue, royal blue, and steel blue. The color of a betta fish is produced by four theoretical layers: iridescent colors, metallic traits, and non-metallic traits. Crosses between different species of bettas can result in more genes that define the colors, shapes, and color arrangements of the fish.
