This self-cleaning filter continuously separates solid wastes like fish feces, debris, and uneaten food from the water to maintain peak clarity and protect the secondary biofiltration system.

How the RD-15 Operates

  • Gravity Feed / Pump Inflow: Dirty water flows directly from your pond or tank's bottom drains and skimmers into the inside of the rotating drum.
  • Screen Trapping: Water passes through the fine mesh cloth from the inside out, while solid waste is trapped on the drum's inner surface.
  • Smart Sensor Activation: As the mesh traps waste, the water level inside the drum rises or drops relative to the outer chamber. A built-in water-level sensor or float switch triggers the automatic cleaning cycle when the screen gets clogged.
  • Automatic Backwashing: The controller simultaneously activates the drum motor and a high-pressure spray bar. Spray nozzles blast clean water from the outside of the drum inward, dislodging the waste into a central waste trough that dumps it directly out a sludge drain pipe
