விளக்கம்

The Live Adult Koi Tuxedo Short Body Guppy (often spelled Texido) is an ultra-premium, highly specialized designer strain in the aquarium hobby. This fish combines the iconic tri-color Koi pattern and dark Tuxedo midsection with the rare, compact Short Body (Balloon/Mini) mutation, creating a uniquely stout, high-vibrancy show fish.

Key Characteristics

  • Distinctive Swimming Motion: Due to their shortened spines and round bodies, they do not swim with the sleek, darting motion of normal guppies. Instead, they have an adorable, energetic "waddle" or "propeller-like" swimming style.
  • High Color Density: Because their color patterns are compressed into a much smaller surface area, the reds, whites, and blacks appear incredibly dense, concentrated, and visually striking.
  • Genetic Rarity: The short body trait is a recessive mutation. Breeding high-quality short-body specimens that maintain perfectly balanced Koi and Tuxedo markings requires highly meticulous selective breeding.
  • Reproduction: They are livebearers that give birth to free-swimming fry. However, due to their compressed anatomy, short-body females generally carry smaller brood sizes (usually 10–20 fry) compared to standard-bodied guppies.

Care Requirements

  • Tank Size: 10 gallons minimum is best for a small group. While they are small, their compact bodies make them highly sensitive to sudden water chemistry changes.
  • Water Temperature: Keep the water stable between 23°C and 28°C (74°F – 82°F). Use a reliable aquarium heater, as cold water slows down their already compressed digestive systems.
  • pH & Hardness: Maintain a pH between 7.0 and 7.8. They thrive in moderately hard to hard water (8 – 20 dGH). Avoid soft or overly acidic water.
  • Filtration: Use a gentle sponge filter powered by an air pump. Their compressed spines make them weak swimmers; strong filter currents will quickly exhaust and stress them.
  • Aquarium Decor: Stick to smooth rocks, driftwood, and soft live plants (like Anubias, Java Fern, or Mosses). Avoid sharp plastic plants or jagged stones that can scratch their round bodies.
  • Diet & Feeding: Feed small amounts 2–3 times a day using highly digestible foods like high-quality micro-pellets, crushed flakes, and baby brine shrimp. Avoid heavy, low-quality fillers to prevent bloating.
  • Water Changes: Perform a 20% to 25% water change weekly. Use a water conditioner to remove chlorine, and ensure the new water matches the tank temperature perfectly.
